Ross “RRouge” Lai is a Canadian Born Award Winning Toronto Based Film Director [Writer, Director, Producer, Photographer, Editor, Designer, Musician] . TMU [Toronto Metropolitan University] IMA Alumni, where he Majored in Film Studies.
Through his Career, Ross has Made Various Films - from Skate, Short Narrative & Experimental, Music Video, Night Life Aftermovies, Gonzo Photo-Journalism to Magic Realist Films Collaborating with Various Brands & Artists Bringing Visual & Narrative Live-Action to Screen: RBC, CBC Sports, VISA, P&G, Wasserman, Brave Bison, Venque, Wolseley, Sportchek, Advil, VICE, Microsoft, SKII, Jessie Reyez, FMLY, Sony, BetMGM, Some Such & Co, Tendril, Venque, Bionik Labs, Monday Vodka, Justin Nozuka, Chris Yonge, Jazz Cartier, Dream Crew, Worship Studios, Forsee Films, Wonderhill Studios, Brave Bison, Edelman, KSI, Landia, Vision Film Co.
In 2019, Ross was the Director of Mothers Of - A Documentary that tackles El Salvador's harsh anti-abortion laws through the story of Teodora del Carmen Vasquez, who is falsely convicted to a 11 year custodial sentence for the tragedy of having a stillborn child. The Doc went on to win best documentary director at SIMA 2020, Official Selection for: New Orleans Film Festival, Athena Film Festival and Austin Film Festival .
Ross is a Tennis Coach and Competitor that Frequents the Pitch. He was a raised on the Grounds as a Nationally Ranked Junior and is an Alumni of Sport School Bill Crothers Secondary .
Formerly, Ross was the Co-founder & CD of Studio Nice & Juicy.
